The second edition of the I-Tech Innovation program, presented all over Italy in universities and research centers, with webinars and physical events, exceeded the expected results: 247 valid applications were received, +19% in comparison with the last edition (207).

The total number of applications even rises to 423 if we also consider the projects that have started but not finished their applications on GUST. This is a very important result, for a program that, despite being only in its second edition, is already recognized nationally and internationally.

Overall, 58.5% of the candidate teams come from northern Italy (specifically 22% from Emilia-Romagna and 20% from Lombardy); 14% from Central Italy and almost 12% from the South and the Islands; 15.5% of the teams come from other countries.
The Call for Innovation has received 98 applications in the Life Science & Digital Health sector, 45 in the FinTech & InsurTech sector and 54 in the AgriTech & FoodTech sector. The Call for Plug In has received 33 applications in Industry 4.0 area and 17 in the Social Impact area. 53% of these teams are already set up as innovative startups.

The second edition of I-Tech Innovation, which opened this year to important partnerships with companies and institutions, such as BI-REX Competence Center, Emil Banca, Gruppo BCC Iccrea and BPER, will continue in the coming months with the evaluation of the applicants. The process will end on 10 October with the selection of 16 startups.

The teams will access the G-force acceleration program which will take place mainly at BOOM, CRIF's new knowledge and innovation hub that will be inaugurated in the last months of the year at Osteria Grande, near Bologna.
